Varieties
Valencias are the backbone of the Australian fresh juice industry. They have a long harvest season and produce a fine quality juice that doesn't develop off flavours when stored under refrigeration. The winter juicing varieties have similar qualities and a harvest season to complement the Valencias.
Some Navels are used for juice, however, a natural bitterness in Navels limits the quantity that can be used.
